Eternus ("we", "us", or "our") is a private memory and legacy platform designed to preserve personal memories, recordings, stories and contextual archives — with trusted access over time. Users can store what matters most and choose, entirely on their own terms, who has access and when.

2. Data We Collect
We collect data in two ways — information you provide directly, and information generated through your use of the app.
Information you provide:
- Name and email address (when joining the waiting list or creating an account)
- Photos, videos, voice recordings and written memories you choose to upload
- Account preferences and privacy settings
- List of trusted contacts you designate to access your legacy
Information generated automatically:
- Device type and operating system
- Usage patterns and app interaction data (used solely to improve the experience)
- Date and time of uploads and account activity
3. How We Use Your Data
Your data is used exclusively to provide and improve the Eternus service. Specifically:
- To store and organise your personal memories securely
- To enable memory continuity features — only with your explicit, prior consent
- To manage access permissions for your designated trusted contacts
- To send you important updates about the service (no marketing without consent)
- To comply with legal obligations
We will never sell, rent or share your personal data with third parties for commercial or advertising purposes. Your memories remain your property — always. Eternus does not monetise, profile or commercialise your personal archives.
4. Legacy Data & Memory Archives
Users may choose — entirely voluntarily — to enable memory continuity features, which allow trusted contacts to access stored memories, voice recordings, written archives and personal stories over time. This section explains how that data is handled.
- This feature is opt-in only — it is never activated without your explicit consent
- You may revoke this consent at any time
- Access to your memory continuity archive is strictly limited to the trusted contacts you personally designate
- Your memory continuity archive will never be used for commercial purposes, advertising or any purpose beyond personal connection
- Designated contacts may request deactivation of memory continuity at any time
We treat legacy archive data with the same — if not greater — level of care and respect as all other personal data.
Human Identity & MemoryEternus does not recreate human consciousness or simulate a real person. The platform preserves memories, recordings, stories and contextual archives intentionally shared by the user. Our goal is continuity of memory and trusted access — not imitation of human identity.
5. How AI Is Used
Eternus may use AI to help organise and improve access to your stored memories. This includes:
- Organising memories into meaningful categories and chronologies
- Connecting related moments and contextual archives
- Improving search and memory navigation
- Surfacing relevant memories based on dates, people or themes you define
AI within Eternus is a tool for organisation and access — not a mechanism to replace, simulate or recreate a human being. No AI feature within Eternus is designed to imply consciousness or represent a person's identity.
6. Controlled Legacy Access
Legacy access within Eternus is always defined and controlled by the user. Specifically:
- You choose which contacts can access your legacy archive — no one is added without your instruction
- You define access levels for each contact (read-only, shared, or full archive access)
- You can change or revoke any legacy access permission at any time
- Trusted contacts can only access what you have explicitly permitted
- Some legacy features may be read-only by design to preserve the integrity of your archive
We believe legacy access should feel considered and safe — not automatic, not assumed.
7. Data Storage & Security
We are committed to keeping your data safe through industry-standard security practices:
- All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest (AES-256)
- Access to personal data is strictly limited to authorised team members
- Regular security audits and vulnerability assessments are conducted
- Servers are hosted within the European Union, in compliance with GDPR
In the event of a data breach that may affect your rights, we will notify you within 72 hours as required by law.
8. Your Rights (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Union or European Economic Area, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):
- Right of Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Right to Rectification — correct inaccurate or incomplete data

9. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. Specifically:
- Waiting list data (name and email) is retained until the service launches or until you request removal
- Account data and memories are retained for the lifetime of your account
- Legacy archive data is retained according to the instructions you set
- If no instructions are set, legacy archive data will be retained for a maximum of 10 years after account inactivity is confirmed
You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us.
10. Cookies
Our website uses only essential cookies necessary for basic functionality. We do not use tracking, advertising or analytics cookies without your explicit consent.
You may disable cookies in your browser settings at any time without affecting your use of the main service.
11. Children's Privacy
Eternus is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If we become aware that a minor has provided us with personal data, we will delete it immediately.
